About The Position

The University of Jamestown invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Piano and Collaborative Arts beginning in August 2027. Applicants must be committed to liberal arts undergraduate education and demonstrate the potential for excellence in teaching, scholarship/creative activity and service. The successful candidate will be a collaborative artist and pianist, a highly effective teacher, and an enthusiastic recruiter who will continue to build the piano and accompanying program.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate in Collaborative Piano, Piano Performance, or closely related field is preferred.
  • Candidates with a master's degree and significant experience as a collaborative artist will also be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the pianist for: Faculty performances, Student recitals, Ensemble and musical theater rehearsals/performances
  • Instruct piano majors and oversee the class piano/proficiency program
  • Teach music history and other related curricula as well as a general music history course
