Assistant Professor of Oral Medicine, Clinician Educator Track / Nurse Practitioner, Personalized Care Suite
About The Position
The Department of Oral Medicine at Penn Dental Medicine is seeking a full-time Assistant Professor on the Clinician Educator Track to serve as the Nurse Practitioner for the Personalized Care Suite (PCare). PCare is a novel interdisciplinary program focused on enhancing access to comprehensive oral healthcare for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, medically complex conditions, physical disabilities, behavioral health needs, and other vulnerable groups. The selected individual will deliver advanced clinical care, instruct predoctoral and postgraduate students, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout Penn Medicine, and contribute to scholarly activities and program development aimed at advancing integrated medical-dental care. This faculty position is crucial for supporting Penn Dental Medicine's objectives in clinical excellence, education, research, and community outreach. The candidate will work alongside faculty from Penn Dental Medicine, the Perelman School of Medicine, Penn Nursing, and associated health systems to create new patient-centered care models.
Requirements
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from an accredited program.
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP).
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses or eligibility for licensure.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
- Demonstrated experience caring for medically complex adult patients.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Experience working within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and improving access to care for underserved populations.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced clinical care within the Personalized Care Suite.
- Educate predoctoral and postgraduate learners.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across Penn Medicine.
- Contribute to scholarship and program development that advances integrated medical-dental care.
- Support Penn Dental Medicine's missions of clinical excellence, education, research, and community engagement.
- Develop innovative models of patient-centered care in collaboration with faculty from various schools and health systems.
