About The Position

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Western New England University invites applications for an immediate opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, beginning in the Fall 2026 semester. Candidates for this position must hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with expertise in one of the following areas: Mechatronics/Control Systems, Aerospace, Machine Design, or closely related fields. Industry experience is a plus. The successful candidate is expected to teach courses at all levels (3/3 load or 18 credits per year), pursue scholarly and externally funded research activities, supervise undergraduate and graduate projects (including PhD), support our innovative first-year engineering program, and provide service to the department and college. We seek outstanding candidates with demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, research, mentoring, and service.

Requirements

  • Hold a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field with expertise in one of the following areas: Mechatronics/Control Systems, Aerospace, Machine Design, or closely related fields.
  • Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
