About The Position

The Assistant Professor will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in PK-8 level literacy education, with the ability to engage with interdisciplinary approaches. Responsibilities include advising students, establishing and maintaining high-quality research and instruction, engaging in scholarly activities, pursuing external grant funding, and providing service to the program, department, division, university, and the profession. This is a tenure-track, on-campus position requiring regular campus presence.

Requirements

• Earned doctorate in Literacy Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Teacher Education, or a related field by date of appointment.
• Two years of full-time teaching experience in PK-8 classrooms.

• Strong understanding of current regional and national literacy trends.
• Expertise in supporting culturally and linguistically diverse PK-8 students.
• Expertise in TESOL.
