About The Position

The Information Systems department at the Sam M. Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, starting August 16, 2027. The assistant professor will be expected to conduct high-quality research suitable for publication in top-tier journals, teach three courses per year (the normal annual teaching load is three courses for all research-active faculty), and perform services essential to sustaining the local and broader academic community. Courses taught could be a mix of graduate and undergraduate courses, and a mix of face-to-face and online courses, as needed. A successful candidate is expected to contribute to enhancing the reputation and work environment of the Information Systems Department and Walton College. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience; benefits are competitive. Regular on-campus availability, in-person teaching, and active contribution to the life of the department, including exhibiting respect and cooperation in shared academic and administrative tasks are essential duties.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Information Systems or a closely related field from an accredited institution conferred by the start of employment.
  • Demonstrated record, or strong potential, of high-quality, original, and independent research.
  • Candidates must meet standards to be classified as a Scholarly Academic for AACSB purposes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with department colleagues and administrators.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
