About The Position

The Department of Geology & Environmental Geosciences at Lafayette College is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in tectonics, structural geology, or related fields. The role involves creating innovative, field-based teaching and research opportunities for undergraduate students. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper-level geology courses, including structural geology, and is expected to have a strong interest in undergraduate teaching, a record of scholarly productivity, and plans for an active research program. Requirements

Ph.D. in a relevant field or plans to complete all requirements for a Ph.D. prior to August 15, 2027.
Expertise in tectonics, structural geology, or closely related fields (e.g., geophysics, seismology).
Strong interest in teaching undergraduates.
Record of scholarly productivity.
Plans for establishing and maintaining an active research program.

Responsibilities

Teach across the curriculum, including developing an introductory-level geology course.
