About The Position

Lyon College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Exercise Science beginning in August 2026. Preferred candidates will have a Ph.D. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field and teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Applicants who will have completed all degree requirements by the start date will be considered. Successful candidates should have a desire to work at a small liberal arts college as well as familiarity with and enthusiasm for liberal arts education. Requirements

Ph.D. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a closely related field
Teaching experience at the undergraduate level
Desire to work at a small liberal arts college
Familiarity with and enthusiasm for liberal arts education

Responsibilities

Engage in a 21 load-hour schedule, teaching in-person introductory and advanced courses in exercise science and related areas.
Provide laboratory-based instruction utilizing modern exercise testing technologies.
Maintain an active program of scholarly and professional activity, including research, publications, and participation in professional organizations.
Contribute to the College's robust undergraduate research culture by mentoring students and maintaining a scholarly agenda that involves them.
Serve on College committees, advise psychology majors, and participate in recruiting, curricular development, and assessment efforts.
Engage in service to the community in support of the mission and values of the College.
