About The Position

Eastern Connecticut State University is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Assistant Professor of Energy and Environmental Science position. Eastern is Connecticut’s Public Liberal Arts University and is located in Willimantic, Connecticut. The Department of Environmental Earth Science (EES) at Eastern Connecticut State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Energy and Environmental Science, beginning August 2027. We seek a teacher-scholar whose academic focus concerns earth systems, energy resources, and sustainability. The successful candidate will help shape an innovative undergraduate curriculum while mentoring students through original research, experiential learning, and community-engagement.

Responsibilities

Teach four undergraduate courses per semester in sustainable energy, energy resources, climate, and environmental earth science
Contribute to Eastern’s liberal arts curriculum
Develop new courses aligned with expertise
Maintain active scholarship including with undergraduate students
Mentor undergraduate research and internships
Contribute to the Sustainable Energy Studies Minor and university service
Collaborate with the Center for Sustainability Studies
