About The Position

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Data Analytics program invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Data Analytics to begin in August 2027. We seek an enthusiastic colleague and instructor with deep professional experience in a range of disciplinary Data Analytics applications. We encourage applicants from any academic field (e.g., social sciences, humanities, or natural sciences) that possess strong data analytics expertise and experience to apply. OWU’s Data Analytics program is an interdisciplinary program grounded in the liberal arts. In addition to courses in Data Analytics, Mathematics, and Computer Science, students also study in several cognate disciplines, including Politics and Government, Psychology, Physics, Geography, Finance, Environmental Studies, Economics, Anthropology and Sociology, and Accounting. Throughout, students consider the ethical implications of their work and develop problem-solving skills that draw upon habits and methods of a range of disciplines. The successful candidate will join a faculty and interdisciplinary community with a wide range of research and teaching interests and will benefit from extensive support for junior faculty, including start-up funding, pre-tenure research leave, funding for student-faculty research collaboration via the Summer Scholarship & Research Program and The OWU Connection, and a range of workshops and mentoring programs supported by the endowed Smith Center for Faculty Excellence. This job is part of a cluster of positions focused on flexibility, interdisciplinarity, and inclusivity. The faculty cohort will join an educational community that values interdisciplinarity and fosters close working relationships with students through our signature program in experiential learning, the OWU Connection. Incoming faculty will be provided with mentoring, professional development, funds, and opportunities to connect with faculty across the Ohio 5 and GLCA consortia.
