About The Position

The Justice Sciences Program in the College of Business and Humanities at the University of Findlay invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track position in Criminal Justice beginning in August 2026. The Justice Sciences Program is seeking a dynamic and knowledgeable instructor to teach both lower and upper-level undergraduate courses in criminal justice. The ideal candidate will contribute to our mission of delivering a student-centered education and fostering an environment of pedagogical excellence, experiential learning, professional development, service, and scholarship. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or closely related field
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with a diverse group of students, faculty, administrators, and staff
  • Demonstrate strong passion/commitment to teaching excellence, student advising and mentorship, experiential learning, professional development, university/community service, and scholarship
  • Ability to develop and deliver curriculum, meet the demands of the position in a timely manner, and assess student learning outcomes
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills and the potential to assume leadership roles within the college

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the criminal justice profession or closely related field or possess CFE credentials

Responsibilities

  • Teach lower and upper-level criminal justice courses in both seated and online formats
  • Develop and deliver engaging course materials that meet the department's academic standards
  • Develop and deliver experiential learning activities to students promoting active learning and professional development
  • Advise and provide mentorship to undergraduate students
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to enhance student learning and meet departmental strategic objectives
  • Assist the Justice Sciences Department with program marketing, student recruitment, assessment activities, and other initiatives as directed by the department chair, dean, and university administration
  • Engage in professional development activities and scholarship to stay current in the field of criminal justice
