About The Position
The Department of Computer Sciences at Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2027. The Department of Computer Sciences is focused on providing an outstanding learning environment for our undergraduate students that includes opportunities for undergraduate research. Therefore, a commitment to high-quality teaching and student success is paramount. MSU Denver has a robust mentoring program for tenure-track faculty. The candidate will be enrolled in the Roadrunner Faculty Academy during their first year. This is a year-long course designed to support new faculty to navigate faculty life and thrive in teaching, scholarly activity and service.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Computer Science or related field conferred by the start of fall 2027 classes

Responsibilities
- Teach 12 hours per semester of undergraduate courses in an ABET accredited computer science program, including evenings on a consistent basis
- Teach a broad range of lower and upper division undergraduate computer science courses
- Teach a range of courses in the areas of AI/ML and/or cybersecurity
- Advise a diverse student body through the academic program
- Participate in course and program development
- Pursue scholarly and professional activities appropriate for the undergraduate teaching mission of the university
- Perform university and professional service
- Perform other duties as assigned by the department chair
- Work with, and be sensitive to, the educational needs of a diverse, urban population
