About The Position

The Role Ferrum College invites applications for an open-rank position in Business (Instructor or tenure-track Assistant Professor), depending on credentials, beginning August 2026. We seek a student-centered educator with the ability to teach principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics as part of the Business Administration curriculum. The successful candidate will teach a full course load (12 credit hours per semester) of undergraduate courses and contribute to the continued development of Ferrum’s Business program. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with students in a small liberal arts setting that values experiential learning, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The College Founded in 1913, Ferrum College is a private liberal arts college associated with the United Methodist Church, offering liberal arts and professional programs such as business, recreation leadership, musical theatre, agriculture, environmental science, teacher education, and criminal justice. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of southwest Virginia, Ferrum provides an outstanding educational experience in a setting of rich natural beauty with close access to lakes, rivers, and state parks. Requirements

  • For Instructor rank: Master’s degree in Economics, Business, or a closely related field.
  • For Assistant Professor (tenure-track): Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Economics, Business, or a closely related field (ABD considered).
  • Demonstrated ability to teach microeconomics and macroeconomics at the undergraduate level.
  • A commitment to teaching in a student-focused liberal arts environment.
