Requirements

PhD in Biology, Environmental Science, or closely related discipline from an accredited college of university required.
Evidence of potential for successful teaching at the college level required.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work with and assist part-time instructors.
An eagerness to engage with colleagues, staff and administrators to develop ways to improve the educational experience for our students.

Nice To Haves

Experience with geospatial technology or conservation and resource management preferred.
Professional background in laboratory management, laboratory research, etc. preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach 24 credits of lower division lecture and laboratory courses each academic year, including upper division courses in applicant’s area of expertise as well as introductory and general education courses.
Collaborate with other full-time faculty on curriculum development of both lab and lecture courses to ensure similar learning core themes, and assist/mentor part-time instructors as needed.
Coordinate select lab courses, including overseeing lab set-up and take down, ordering of supplies, and supervision of lab instructors.
Attend department, division, and college faculty meetings.
Work with other faculty in program management.
Adhere to university policies.
Involve undergraduate students in research and experiential-learning projects in applicant's area of expertise, as time permits.
Perform other duties as assigned.
