About The Position

The Department of Biology at California State University San Bernardino (CSUSB) is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology with research expertise in medical microbiology and immunology. The position begins August 2027. The candidate will also participate in the development of a pre-Clinical Laboratory Science certificate program. A Ph.D. in biology or a related field is required, with postdoctoral experience being highly desired. Requirements

  • A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in biology or related field by time of appointment.
  • Publication record in medical microbiology and/or immunology.
  • Experimental expertise applicable to undergraduate and Master’s level research in medical microbiology and immunology.
  • Commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse student population.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and students across a wide range of disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an independent research program in medical microbiology and immunology.
  • Design and teach lecture and laboratory courses in subjects such as medical microbiology, immunology, and microbiology.
