About The Position

The Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Biological Engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a nationally recognized research program, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, secure extramural funding, and serve the Department, College, and University. The candidate should aspire to lead a research program that fuses molecular/cellular bioscience and molecular modeling with quantitative engineering analysis/synthesis approaches, including Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Areas of high priority include cutting-edge, multiscale, data-driven approaches in non-medical molecular biotechnology, AI-enabled digital representations of biological systems, microbiome engineering, and food safety. Collaboration with AgriLife Extension Faculty, participation in professional development activities, and an appropriate level of service are expected.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate (Ph.D.) in Biological Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Food Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline.
  • A strong commitment to lead a novel research program in the engineering of biological based products, their processes and mitigation of contaminants using experimental and modeling tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • An ability to work both independently and in multi-disciplinary teams.
