About The Position

The University of Tampa is seeking an Assistant Professor of Art and Design. This position requires a demonstrated ability to teach within cross-disciplinary teams, emphasizing experiential learning projects, and to teach undergraduate coursework in typography, branding, environmental graphics and wayfinding, packaging, print production, and interactive design. The ideal candidate will possess proven disciplinary expertise and a record of excellence in teaching. They should actively cultivate a dynamic design culture that leverages cutting-edge design research, methodologies, and technologies. The successful applicant will become part of a department comprising sixteen full-time faculty members and four full-time instructional staff, all dedicated to mentoring students in the development of innovative, market-ready concepts that seamlessly blend intellectual rigor with creative execution and effectively synthesize work across multiple media. Candidates with substantial industry experience are particularly encouraged to apply. The teaching load is 12-semester hours (typically 3 four-credit courses) in a 15-week semester. As our faculty work very closely with students, the successful candidate will be required to maintain office hours to meet with students, serve as an academic adviser, contribute to the function and educational objectives of the program and department, provide service to the college, university, community, and the profession, and perform all other duties as assigned.
