About The Position

The University of Tampa is seeking an Assistant Professor of Art and Design with a demonstrated ability to teach within cross-disciplinary teams, emphasizing experiential learning projects. The role involves teaching undergraduate coursework in typography, branding, environmental graphics and wayfinding, packaging, print production, and interactive design. The ideal candidate will possess proven disciplinary expertise and a record of excellence in teaching, actively cultivating a dynamic design culture that leverages cutting-edge design research, methodologies, and technologies. The successful applicant will join a department of sixteen full-time faculty members and four full-time instructional staff dedicated to mentoring students in developing innovative, market-ready concepts that blend intellectual rigor with creative execution and synthesize work across multiple media. Candidates with substantial industry experience are particularly encouraged to apply. The teaching load is 12-semester hours (typically 3 four-credit courses) in a 15-week semester. Faculty are required to maintain office hours, serve as academic advisers, contribute to the program and department's function and educational objectives, provide service to the college, university, community, and profession, and perform all other duties as assigned.
