About The Position

Stetson University’s School of Business Administration is seeking to fill two Assistant Professor of AI and Analytics positions. These are full-time, 9-month, tenure-track positions beginning in August 2027, located in DeLand, Florida. The School emphasizes an entrepreneurial approach with a balance of teaching and research, aiming to deliver an innovative business curriculum. The ideal candidates will be interested in developing distinctive courses and programs that utilize interdisciplinary collaborations and experiential learning in areas such as business statistics, information systems, artificial intelligence, and analytics. The successful candidates will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, introducing students to foundational concepts and guiding them in applying these principles to real-world settings across various industries. Instruction will focus on applied and engaged learning through hands-on projects, emerging technologies, tools, and platforms.

Requirements

A Ph.D. (or terminal degree) from an AACSB-accredited institution in a related field (e.g., Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, Statistics, Management Information Systems) by August 2027.
Candidates with ABDs who will complete the degree by August 1, 2027 will be considered.
Demonstrate a willingness to be fully engaged participants in the continued development of this growing program, in and out of the classroom.
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate collegiality.
Be able to work with multiple constituencies of diverse backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

Applicants interested in developing distinctive courses and programs that leverage interdisciplinary collaborations and experiential learning within the School and across the institution in the areas of business statistics, information systems, artificial intelligence, and analytics are preferred.
Relevant professional work experience.
A record of research publications or other intellectual contributions in AI, analytics, or related fields are preferred.

Responsibilities

Teach three courses in both the fall and spring semesters, equivalent to six courses per academic year.
Potentially complete one course as an approved student-centered immersive experience for Hatter Ready, the University’s experiential learning initiative.
Teach undergraduate and graduate courses, potentially including offerings for the University’s General Education requirements.
Offer theme-based courses for General Education requirements (e.g., First-Year or Junior Seminars) or international courses through Stetson’s WORLD program and the Rinker Center for International Learning.
Provide undergraduate advising.
Assist with student recruitment.
Engage in service to the university, college, and/or department.
Maintain professional engagement.
Build partnerships with Florida-based and national practitioners and potential employers.
Demonstrate a passion for the highest quality of teaching and maintain appropriate academic qualifications consistent with AACSB and School of Business Administration standards.
