About The Position

The Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Design is seeking candidates for a 9-month, tenure track Assistant Professor in Landscape Architecture. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in landscape architecture, particularly in digital modeling, drainage and grading, and materials and methods, advising students, mentoring and recruitment, participating in curriculum development, engaging in scholarly activities such as research, creative works, publishing scholarly works, and writing grants. Other responsibilities include but not limited to, engaging in accreditation procedures, program assessment, and service to the Department, College and University as needed.

Requirements

  • Master ( MLA ) or Ph.D. in Landscape Architecture or a closely related discipline with at least one professional degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university.
  • Must possess a record of design, research/creative works and/or publication, demonstrating a positive trajectory of continued excellence appropriate for a research university.

  • Teaching and mentoring experience at the undergraduate level.
  • Interest in student engagement and willingness to adapt teaching and learning styles to student needs.
  • Familiarity with curriculum and course development at the undergraduate level.
  • Familiarity with accreditation preparation and process.
  • A record of research or creative works.
  • At least one year of professional landscape architecture or construction-related experience
  • A strong design portfolio, including evidence of built or speculative projects
  • Demonstrated experience with construction documentation and technical detailing
  • Experience integrating digital tools and workflows (e.g., BIM , GIS , immersive media) into design instruction.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Civil 3D, Rhino, and Revit.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships with the professional community, the public and related academic fields.
