Assistant Professor, International Political Economy
About The Position
McGill University's Department of Political Science, Faculty of Arts, is seeking to hire an outstanding early-career scholar for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in International Political Economy (IPE). The ideal candidate will have a strong research record in IPE, employing primarily quantitative methods, and a demonstrated potential for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in IPE. The successful candidate will also be expected to teach the graduate proseminar in International Relations. The department is committed to world-class research and teaching across diverse approaches to the study of politics.
Requirements
- Completed PhD or be near completion.
- Outstanding research potential.
- Ability/potential to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate level.
- Evidence (or intentions) of undergraduate and graduate supervision.
- Evidence (or intentions) of mentoring students with diverse lived experiences.
- Must be authorized to work in Canada (or apply and obtain authorization).
- Willingness to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is located.
- English communication skills (verbal and written).
Nice To Haves
- Research that is methodologically rigorous and quantitative in orientation.
- Knowledge of French.
Responsibilities
- Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in IPE.
- Teaching the graduate proseminar in International Relations.
- Conducting research.
- Service to the institution, including contributions to the department, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
