About The Position

California State University (CSU), Chico is seeking an Assistant Tenure-Track Professor in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage & Family Therapy. This position starts in August 2027 and is part of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Requirements

Doctorate degree from a COAMFTE accredited Marriage & Family Therapy Program or an accredited Counseling or Clinical Psychology program. Candidates nearing completion may be considered if all requirements are met by the start date.
CA licensure, or intention to obtain it, as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist, or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Licensure must be achieved by the end of the third year to continue employment.
Meeting, or intending to meet, CA Board of Behavioral Sciences MFT supervisor qualifications. These qualifications must be met by the end of the third year for continued employment.
Experience in undergraduate and/or graduate instruction.
A record of research and/or scholarly activities.
Ability to work within the State of California.
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Teaching primarily graduate courses and potentially undergraduate courses as needed.
Supervising graduate trainees.
Developing a successful program of research or scholarly activity.
Seeking external funding.
Supporting the administrative and advising needs of the Marriage & Family Therapy program.
Joining a team of faculty and staff to coordinate the on-campus training clinic and off-campus traineeship program, with opportunities for developing program leadership.
Developing teaching practices that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion.
