The Department of Biology at Stanford University seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Evolutionary Biology. A successful candidate will conduct research that asks fundamental questions relating to evolutionary processes and drivers of evolutionary patterns. Candidates can make use of any of the major techniques of evolutionary biology, including computational, experimental, field, mathematical, statistical, or theoretical methods, or any combination thereof. Conceptual and mathematical research or research involving any species will be considered. The successful candidate’s research will answer broad questions about evolutionary processes and principles using specific models and/or systems. Applicants must have a demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring and the ability to build and maintain a world-class research program. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field at the time of appointment and will be expected to teach and advise students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.
