The Department of Advertising in the College of Journalism and Communications (CJC) at the University of Florida is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in AI and Advertising. This position begins in Fall 2027 and requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field. The ideal candidate will have a strong research focus on artificial intelligence and its impact on the advertising industry, professional practice, and education. Areas of interest include AI-mediated persuasion, human-AI interaction, generative AI, algorithmic communication, AI-driven social media insights, and the broader societal implications of these technologies. The position involves collaboration with UF’s Consortium on Trust in Media and Technology, which is part of UF’s major initiative in artificial intelligence. The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, potentially developing new courses in their area of expertise, mentor students, and contribute to departmental and university service. Evaluation will be based on research quality and potential, teaching effectiveness, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
