About The Position

This position provides clinical care coverage at OHSU’s Doernbecher Neonatal Care Center with additional coverage at any of our OHSU affiliated or partner hospitals: PeaceHealth in Vancouver, Washington, OHSU Hillsboro and Adventist Health. The duties of this position include leadership opportunities at regional neonatology facilities and at OHSU. Clinical activities involve providing care primarily at OHSU’s Doernbecher Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and at a neonatal care center in Vancouver, Washington, working with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to neonatology patients. Administrative activities include participation in faculty meetings at the division and department level, and aiding the division head and department chair in providing direction to the division and department. Scholarly activities are expected and may include educating learners, research, grant-supported work, academic papers, presentations, and participation in clinical research. Educational duties involve providing clinical education to fellows, residents, medical students, and nurse practitioner students participating in newborn care rotations, including feedback and evaluation of learners. Other activities may include serving on OHSU committees as directed by the department chair or division head.

Requirements

  • Board-certified/board eligible in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine and Pediatrics.
  • Eligible for or currently have Washington and Oregon nursing/medical licenses.
  • Recent pediatric newborn experience.
  • Skills in neonatal resuscitation following the current NRP guidelines.
  • Proficiency in the management of ill newborns.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with families and other healthcare providers.
