About The Position

Rockhurst University, College of Nursing and Health Sciences is seeking applicants for an experienced and motivated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Nursing Assistant Professor Track Coordinator to teach courses in the PMHNP track, including didactic, clinical, and immersion experiences. The Masters-level curriculum emphasizes innovative and evidence-based practice to meet the increasingly complex healthcare delivery demands and improve patient safety and quality of delivery. Faculty are committed to educating future PMHNPs who are competent and qualified to deliver safe and high-quality care.

Requirements

• MSN with APRN national certification as a PMHNP
• 2-5 years PMHNP experience required
• Strong organizational, analytical, planning, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of individuals.
• Effective project management skills; detail and deadline oriented.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• Terminal degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare course outline and syllabus in collaboration with the course lead and track coordinator.
• Develop course and lesson plans.
• Engage in the selection of textbook and other teaching aids necessary to the instruction of courses.
• Conduct course instruction for courses in the nursing curriculum at the higher education level utilizing diverse teaching strategies.
• Teach pertinent course subject matter using lectures, demonstrations, class discussions, and other appropriate modes of educational delivery in the face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid environment.
• Serve as an academic advisor/mentor to students and foster their personal and professional development.
• Submit student progress reports and attendance to the program director and advisor and discuss any student needs that may require directed attention or remediation plans.
• Maintain clinical currency.
