About The Position

North Idaho College is seeking a passionate and student-centered educator to join our Dental Hygiene Program as an Assistant Professor of Dental Hygiene. This is an opportunity to help shape the next generation of dental hygienists in a supportive, hands-on learning environment focused on clinical excellence, professionalism, and compassionate patient care. Faculty in this role provide classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction while mentoring and advising students throughout their academic journey. Responsibilities include developing engaging learning experiences, evaluating student performance, supporting accreditation and assessment efforts, supervising students in clinical settings, and contributing to curriculum development and program improvement. This position also plays an active role in recruitment, community partnerships, college service, and collaboration with adjunct and clinical faculty. We are looking for an enthusiastic educator and clinician who can connect with students, adapt to different learning styles, and foster confidence and critical thinking in future healthcare professionals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene.
  • Recent Dental Hygiene clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of students, faculty, and staff from multi-cultural backgrounds.
  • Must possess an Idaho Registered Dental Hygiene License, or obtain within six months of hire.
  • CPR/BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA) within 90 days of hire.
  • Eligible to receive an Idaho post-secondary Career Technical Education (CTE) certificate.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

  • Membership in the American Dental Hygienists’ Association and American Dental Education Association preferred.
