About The Position

The Department of Computer Science in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Education at The University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor position for the 2027-28 academic year, beginning in August 2027. The B.S. in Computer Science is a rapidly growing program that welcomed its inaugural class in 2021-22. The department is currently exploring additional programs to provide additional depth in areas of high student interest. This position offers an exciting opportunity to help shape the direction of a young and evolving department committed to excellence in education.

Requirements

• Hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field (ABD considered; however, the terminal degree must be earned by July 2027)
• Possess a broad background in computer science with the ability to teach across the curriculum
• Demonstrate potential for outstanding teaching, strong written and oral communication skills, and a commitment to high academic standards
• Show evidence of an active research agenda, with potential to involve undergraduates
• Exhibit the ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Be committed to remaining current in both teaching and scholarship
