About The Position
The Department of Psychology at Wilkes University is seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Cognitive Psychology or Cognitive Neuroscience, starting August 2026. The role involves contributing to the Psychology and Neuroscience majors, teaching undergraduate courses like Cognition and Introductory Psychology, and leading capstone seminars. The standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester. The department, with six full-time faculty, emphasizes student success and teaching excellence. The new faculty member will be expected to establish an active research program involving undergraduate students, advise majors, and participate in university and professional service. Preference will be given to candidates who foster undergraduate mentoring relationships.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology or related field by the time of appointment
- ABD candidates will be considered if degree completion will occur by August, 2026
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education
- Provide evidence of teaching effectiveness
- Provide evidence of scholarly productivity commensurate with experience
