The Department of Accounting & Finance in the Lucas College of Business at San José State University is seeking an Assistant Professor of Accounting to begin in August 2027. The successful candidate will teach a range of accounting courses, including financial, managerial, analytics, or internal audit, within undergraduate, MS Accounting Analytics, or MBA programs. Responsibilities include engaging in research for respected accounting journals and contributing to service at the department, college, or university levels. The department focuses on teaching undergraduate coursework in finance, accounting, and tax with a technological emphasis and encourages cross-discipline research. It houses Master of Science degrees in Accounting Analytics and Financial Analytics, and includes centers of excellence such as the Center for Banking and Financial Services, the Accounting Advancement Center, and the High Technology Tax Institute.
