About The Position

This role involves a hands-on leadership style for 3rd shift production, setting the tone for safety, quality, and teamwork. The ideal candidate will build strong teams, lead with consistency, and take ownership of results, measuring success through safe, efficient production, high employee engagement, and low turnover, with a drive for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years prior supervisory or lead experience in manufacturing, recycling, or industrial operations
  • Experience leading a minimum of 20 - 50 team members at a time
  • Strong communication and people leadership skills
  • A safety-first mindset
  • Ability to coach, train, and hold teams accountable
  • Organized, dependable, and team-oriented

Responsibilities

  • Build trust, accountability, and teamwork on the floor.
  • Communicate expectations clearly and consistently.

  • Lead a strong safety culture through training, coaching, and accountability.
  • Conduct weekly safety meetings and production/process training.
  • Perform regular safety inspections and follow up on findings.
  • Set the example for proper PPE usage.
  • Work toward and maintain a zero recordable accident environment.
  • Attend weekly Mitchell Leadership meetings on Tuesdays at 7:30 AM.
  • Maintain a culture of quality — consistent production of dimensionally accurate lumber with quick resolution of any known defects.
  • Maintain a culture of productivity by operating at or above budgeted goals.
  • Maintain a culture of log efficiency by operating at or above budgeted goals.
  • Cover for the 3rd Shift Production Supervisor any time they are off work.
  • Minimize overtime through effective planning and cross-training.
  • Proactively and continuously engage the entire team to reduce fire risk by every available means.
  • Daily housekeeping goal: clean floors and machinery at the end of every shift.
  • Communicate effectively and actively support other IPC supervisors.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to both internal customers (201 & 101) and external customers.
  • Coach and develop team leaders and production employees; build strong relationships with team members.
  • Support employee growth and improve retention through consistent, caring leadership.
