About The Position

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for leading and directing day-to-day production operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing performance. This role executes the production schedule, drives operational performance, and provides leadership to production teams. This posting represents two separate Assistant Production Manager positions supporting the Device and Filter Media production areas. Each role is aligned in scope and level but differs in team structure—either directly supervising production employees or leading through shift supervisors. Final assignment will be based on business needs and candidate experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, or related field preferred
  • Equivalent experience considered
  • 5–7 years of manufacturing experience
  • 2–3 years of supervisory or leadership experience
  • Manufacturing operations and production scheduling
  • MRP/ERP systems and inventory management
  • KPI analysis and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and productivity targets
  • Execute production schedules and adjust staffing, workflow, and priorities in real time
  • Prepare and manage production work order packets
  • Partner with Production Manager on capacity planning and sequencing
  • Collaborate with Maintenance and Customer Service to ensure operational continuity
  • Monitor production KPIs and drive performance improvements
  • Lead daily KPI reviews and implement corrective actions
  • Investigate downtime and operational issues
  • Support Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participate in quality and leadership meetings
  • Oversee cycle counts and inventory accuracy
  • Collaborate on production timelines and order fulfillment
  • Utilize MRP/ERP systems to support production readiness
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management
  • Depending on assignment: Directly supervise production employees or Lead through shift supervisors and develop frontline leadership capability
  • Support hiring, training, and workforce planning
  • Foster a culture of safety, engagement, and accountability
  • Serve as backup to the Production Manager
  • Partner cross-functionally with QC, R&D, Maintenance, and other teams
  • Support continuous improvement and business initiatives
