About The Position

Assist the Pro Shop Attendant in providing the highest level of customer service to Crane’s Landing customers during check-in and payment for booked tee times. Responsibilities include stocking the golf shop to showcase and sell golf merchandise, and maintaining the practice area, including setup for lessons and clinics. The role requires treating guests and fellow associates with respect and friendliness at all times, and following the directions of the Director of Golf.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) at minimum.
  • Experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • BASSET Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge and greet members by name when possible.
  • Provide exceptional guest service.
  • Approach guests in a friendly manner and offer assistance if needed.
  • Answer calls and use proper etiquette.
  • Execute correct technique in accepting reservations.
  • Collect customer information including name, phone number, e-mail, credit card (optional), number of players, chosen time, and green fee price.
  • Charge the appropriate rate for every transaction.
  • Maximize revenue through techniques such as opening on time, selling open tee times, credit card guarantees, call backs, single golfer reservations, and tournament/league play.
  • Check guests in for their booked tee times.
  • Assign group carts according to policy (e.g., no more than 2 carts in a foursome/threesome, 1 cart in a twosome).
  • Notify Player’s Assistant and Management of anticipated pace of play issues or safety concerns, including guests not following rules or consuming alcohol.
  • Regularly pick range balls and take them to the bagroom ball washer.
  • Maintain chipping area and rake practice bunker.
  • Keep hitting bays organized and clean.
  • Report any unsafe activity to the Golf Director.
  • Promote products to members and guests.
  • Keep displays organized and clean.
  • Coordinate special orders.
  • Report shortages to the Golf Director.
  • Assist other staff members with their duties, including cart operations and other outside services.
  • Check conditions of carts and assist with cleaning and restaging carts.
