The Assistant Principal will work collaboratively with diverse students, staff, families, and communities to prepare learners for the 21st century. This role involves participating in the development and evaluation of educational programs, encouraging innovative instructional programs, and promoting the use of technology in the teaching and learning process. The Assistant Principal will foster a positive learning climate, deal sensitively with diverse cultural backgrounds, and communicate effectively with students and staff. This position also involves participating in campus improvement plans, maintaining information systems for tracking progress, observing and evaluating employee performance, and assisting the principal in interviewing and orienting new staff. The role includes supervising operations in the principal's absence, planning daily school activities, supervising student attendance, and working with faculty on budget requests and requisitions for supplies and equipment. Additionally, the Assistant Principal will assist with safety inspections and drills, coordinate support services, ensure compliance with laws and policies, supervise student discipline, and conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers. The position requires participation in professional development, articulating the school's mission to the community, and demonstrating awareness of school-community needs. The Assistant Principal will share supervisory responsibility for professional staff and supervise various personnel as assigned.
