About The Position

The Accelerated Schools, located south of Downtown Los Angeles, serve over 1,700 TK-12 students with a mission to prepare them for success in college, career, and life. Our approach integrates innovation, equity, and compassion, empowering students to take ownership of their learning. We utilize research-based practices like project-based learning and student choice, and embrace Restorative Practices for behavior support. Requirements

  • California Single Subject credential w/English Learner Authorization (required)
  • California Administrative Services Credential (required) or demonstrate enrollment in administrative preparation program
  • At least three years of classroom teaching experience

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish Bilingual (preferred)
  • five or more years of classroom teaching experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1-2 years site administrator or equivalent experience preferred
  • Work experience at a wide range of grade levels, spanning middle and high school (preferred)
  • Experience developing and/or facilitating professional development for other educators (preferred)
  • Experience in a leadership capacity i.e., department chairperson, grade level lead teacher (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Guide teachers, instructional leaders, and department chairs in increasing student achievement through a data-informed instructional cycle, targeted professional learning, and consistent observation and feedback.
  • Mentor, supervise, evaluate, and support teachers and staff through regular classroom observations and actionable feedback.
  • Establish and uphold ambitious expectations for student performance to ensure all students are progressing toward college and career readiness.
  • Ensure curriculum, assessments, differentiated learning approaches, and instructional practices align with California State Standards.
  • Lead the Leadership Team in areas of curriculum, instruction, and assessment across all core subjects and other courses of study.
  • Design, implement, facilitate, and evaluate professional development for faculty and staff.
  • Regularly collect, analyze, and share data to drive student achievement and inform school programs, including master scheduling and student access to courses.
  • Collaborate with teachers to design and implement 21st-century curricula, including personalized and project-based learning.
  • Coordinate assessments (e.g., CAASPP), analyze results, and share findings to inform instruction.
  • Stay current with research and participate in professional development and meetings.
  • Oversee all aspects of student safety and campus security.
  • Collaborate with support staff to address issues related to student absences, health, and wellness.
  • Supervise student activities and coordinate student incentive and recognition programs.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of school policies and procedures.
  • Foster positive and effective communication with all stakeholders.
  • Create a welcoming and enthusiastic environment for staff, students, and parents.
  • Engage parents and community members to actively participate in and contribute to the school’s vision and goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
