About The Position

The Assistant Principal will assist the Elementary School Principal in the overall administration of the school. This role involves supporting the effectiveness of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices, as well as ensuring student, staff, and school safety. The Assistant Principal will also be involved in staff assignments and evaluations, fostering positive school and community relationships, and supervising school events. A key aspect of the role is developing strong communication and collaboration with students, staff, and parents, and sharing responsibility for implementing district discipline and attendance policies.

Requirements

  • Appropriate state elementary administrative license/certificate.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience.
  • Successful administrative/leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the monitoring of the effectiveness of the school’s curricular instructional and assessment practices.
  • Assist with establishing and monitoring standards, procedures, and routines for student, staff, and school safety.
  • Assist with the assignment and evaluation of certified and support staff, as well as substitutes.
  • Affect positive school and community relationships.
  • Supervision at school events.
  • Develop and implement strong lines of communication and collaboration with students, staff, and parents.
  • Share with the principal the responsibility for administering the district’s discipline and attendance policies through accepted building procedures.
  • Attend all meetings as directed by supervisor.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor and district office administration.
