The Assistant Principal will work collaboratively with diverse students, staff, families, and communities to prepare learners for the 21st century. This role involves participating in the development and evaluation of educational programs, encouraging innovative instructional programs, and promoting the use of technology. The Assistant Principal will foster a positive learning environment, communicate effectively, and assist in campus improvement planning. They will also help manage information systems for tracking progress, deal sensitively with diverse individuals, and observe and evaluate employee performance using the Cypress-Fairbanks Teacher Evaluation and Support System (CF-TESS). Additionally, this role supports the principal in interviewing, selecting, and orienting new staff, supervising operations in the principal's absence, and planning daily school activities. Responsibilities include supervising student attendance, assisting with budget requests, requisitioning supplies, and coordinating support services. The Assistant Principal must comply with all relevant laws and policies, ensure adequate student supervision, and help develop a positive student discipline management system. They will conduct conferences with parents, students, and teachers, participate in professional development, and articulate the school's mission to the community, encouraging involvement and support. This position shares supervisory responsibility for professional staff with the school principal, overseeing teachers, custodians, paraprofessionals, and clerical personnel as assigned. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function.
