About The Position

Responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and monitoring the delivery of services to general education students in at-risk situations. Coordinate the implementation of MTSS and 504 and maintain all appropriate records necessary to track student progress through the intervention/referral process.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree
  • Possess Principal/Mid-Management Certificate
  • Minimum of five years successful classroom experience
  • Demonstrated ability as an instructional leader
  • Certified teacher appraiser/T-TESS
  • AEL Certified (or able to obtain certification)
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Physically able to monitor students

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the progress of general education students on education and/or behavior plans developed through collaborative conferences to ensure consistent implementation of these plans within the classroom.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of programs and projects for which he/she is responsible and punctually submit accurate reports as may be required by law, District policy, or administrative regulation.
  • Interact effectively with students to promote positive attitudes toward the school programs.
  • Share information regarding appropriate intervention strategies for students in at-risk situations with collaborative teams and individual teachers.
  • Conduct instructional observations and conferences with staff that result in diagnostic and prescriptive feedback for growth and improved performance.
  • Facilitate staff development including in-service activities, workshops, and support materials.
  • Schedule and chair attendance review committee for students who have fallen below required attendance rates for a student to receive credit.
  • Assist faculty and staff in maintaining a learning environment (curricular, co-curricular, extracurricular) that enhances the academic, physical, social, and emotional development of students.
  • Collect and analyze data pertaining to students in at-risk situations with specific emphasis on STAAR, MTSS, discipline referrals, absenteeism, grade level success, and early intervention possibilities.
  • Schedule and chair Language Proficiency Assessment Committees, if designated to do so.
  • Chair selected ARD meetings.
  • Serve as a campus 504 coordinator, if designated to do so.
  • Other duties as assigned.
