Assistant Press Operator - Flexo Web - Day Shift (3 Day/12 Hour)

Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software.
- Must have mechanical ability and skills.
- Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English.
- Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
Responsibilities
- Operate and manage the unwind system to ensure continuous, stable web feed maintaining proper roll setup, tension control, and splicing to support safe, efficient production at target speeds.
- Set up and operate both unwind with cross-training to support the rewind system for operational flexibility.
- Prepare rolls for production (remove outer wrap, cut cores, stage materials)
- Maintain proper web tension and roll diameter settings per specifications
- Set and adjust edge guides to ensure accurate web alignment
- Manage roll changes and automatic splicing to maintain continuous operation
- Ensure adequate supply of clean cores and materials for uninterrupted production
- Support routine maintenance, including cleaning and inspection of gears, bearings, and anilox rolls
- Operate cleaning equipment (e.g., Micro Clean) and properly store components
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and food safety standards
- Utilize downtime effectively to support setup, housekeeping, and team needs
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations
- Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and identify/report unsafe conditions
- May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments
- Performs other duties as assigned
