About The Position

AppleTree Prep Athens is seeking a dependable and positive Assistant Preschool Teacher to join their team. This role is crucial in shaping a child's earliest learning experiences by supporting the classroom team in creating a safe, engaging, and inspiring environment where children can learn and grow. The Assistant Preschool Teacher will assist with daily activities, provide active supervision, and help implement the curriculum, ensuring a smooth and positive classroom experience. This position offers hands-on classroom experience and opportunities for career growth in early childhood education.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to work Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm
Must meet all state-specific education, certification (including CPR/First Aid, where required), licensing, and regulatory requirements, including the ability to pass a background check and complete ongoing professional development.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with children, families, and team members.

Nice To Haves

Coursework or degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
At least 1 year of previous experience working with young children in a childcare, preschool, or similar setting preferred.
Basic understanding of classroom procedures and willingness to learn state licensing and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

Support daily activities and curriculum implementation alongside the lead teacher
Always provide active supervision, ensuring safety and compliance with required ratios
Support children’s development through positive guidance, interaction, and play
Assist with classroom routines, organization, and communication with families, while supporting overall school operations
