About The Position

The Growing Years of Charlotte is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support the Preschool age group. The ideal candidate will assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom, implement activities that encourage child development, and maintain a clean and safe environment. This role requires establishing a professional rapport with families and the physical ability to work around small children, including lifting up to 40 lbs.

Requirements

High school diploma
Completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses or their equivalent
Ability to pass all background checks

Responsibilities

Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
Establishing a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
