The Assistant Teacher is responsible for the direct supervision, teaching, and safety of children at all times, under the guidance of the Program Coordinator and Head Teacher. This role requires the ability to implement quality, developmentally age-appropriate children's programs and to participate as a member of a team. The goal is to create a warm and nurturing environment that ensures the safety and well-being of each child while emphasizing program excellence. Employment is contingent upon meeting NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) licensing requirements, including fingerprinting, background screening, and clearances from the State Central Register (SCR) and Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCL) within the first 30 days of employment. An initial medical statement and tuberculin test are also required prior to assignment.
