About The Position
The Learning Experience – Jenison is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms serving infants through preschool-aged children. This role helps create a structured and engaging learning environment while supporting daily routines alongside Lead Teachers. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and being part of a collaborative teaching team.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior childcare experience preferred
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable and patient approach to working with children
- Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily classroom routines across multiple age groups
- Support learning activities that promote early development
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
- Guide children through transitions including meals, rest time, and learning centers
- Prepare classroom materials and assist with activities
- Communicate professionally with families and team members
- Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies
