About The Position

Virginia Dental Solutions is seeking an experienced dental professional who is ready to take the next step in their career. This Assistant Practice Manager (APM) role is ideal for a strong dental leader who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, values teamwork, and is looking to grow into higher‑level practice leadership. The Assistant Practice Manager plays a critical role in supporting daily operations, team performance, and patient experience while partnering closely with the Practice Manager and clinical leadership.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of dental practice experience (clinical or administrative)
  • Proficiency with dental practice management software and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and lead with confidence
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Current or maintainable OSHA, HIPAA, BLS, and infection control certifications

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a lead, supervisory, or management support role preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of dental office operations and workflows

Responsibilities

  • Support the Practice Manager with daily operations, including scheduling, patient flow, supply ordering, billing, and administrative workflows
  • Assist with front office, treatment coordination, and revenue cycle functions as needed
  • Help lead daily huddles and team meetings to promote communication, engagement, and accountability
  • Support staff onboarding, training, coaching, and team development
  • Monitor operational and performance metrics and assist with improvement initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, and infection control standards
  • Assist with marketing initiatives and new patient experience efforts
  • Serve as a leadership presence for staff and patients; act as Practice Manager when needed
  • Address patient concerns professionally and in alignment with company standards
