About The Position

As Assistant Plant Manager, you'll support the leadership of a fast-paced manufacturing operation producing liquid and powdered flavor products. You'll partner closely with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, R&D, Procurement, and Commercial teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while developing a strong culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for a proven manufacturing leader looking to expand their scope and influence within plant operations. The ideal candidate brings a combination of food manufacturing experience, people leadership, process improvement expertise, and a passion for driving results.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of manufacturing leadership or production management experience.
  • Experience leading teams within a food, beverage, ingredient, flavor, or related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience developing and coaching employees.
  • Experience driving operational improvements and solving production challenges in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with liquid processing, dry powder production, spray drying, packaging, flavor manufacturing, or related food processing operations.
  • Knowledge of food safety programs, SQF, quality systems, and regulatory requirements.
  • ERP/MRP experience; SAP or Sage experience is a plus.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Lean/CI knowledge or any type of continuous improvement methodology.
  • Demonstration of project leadership in continuous improvement and cost savings activities.
  • Strong ability to work interdepartmentally in collaboration to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Help lead daily manufacturing operations across liquid and powder production areas.
  • Champion a strong safety culture and support site EHS initiatives.
  • Drive operational performance across quality, productivity, inventory management, and customer service.
  • Develop, coach, and mentor frontline leaders and production teams.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives and customer expectations.
  • Support food safety, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and SOP adherence.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
  • Assist with production planning, inventory control, budgeting, and overall plant performance.
  • Other duties as required.
