About The Position

The Assistant Plant Manager at Emory Dry Ice will be responsible for assisting with plant operations, including workforce management, production scheduling, and process optimization. The Assistant Plant Manager will assist the Plant Manager with the team to maintain operational efficiency, drive performance improvements, and make certain that all production processes are standardized and documented.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience preferred; Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • 2+ years in a plant, warehouse, or operations role, preferably in a leadership or team lead capacity.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to lead by example and support a team-focused culture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP systems like NetSuite is a plus.
  • Dependable and proactive with a hands-on leadership approach.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to prioritize and solve problems in a dynamic work environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into greater responsibility.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience with ERP systems like NetSuite is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Plant Manager in leading and coordinating the workforce to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Support training efforts for new hires and existing staff in partnership with HR and plant leadership.
  • Provide daily supervision and guidance to plant employees, addressing performance or attendance concerns as needed.
  • Help execute the daily production schedule and ensure alignment with labor and equipment availability.
  • Monitor CO2 inventory levels and communicate replenishment needs to the Plant Manager.
  • Oversee tote rotation and ensure availability of clean, properly labeled totes for daily use.
  • Participate in inventory counts and ensure data is recorded accurately.
  • Record production data in tracking systems (e.g., daily production tracker, logs).
  • Support the Plant Manager in reviewing production data to track performance metrics and identify trends or issues.
  • Follow all established SOPs and assist in training others to ensure consistent execution.
  • Provide feedback on procedures to support ongoing updates and improvements.
  • Monitor the production floor and report inefficiencies, equipment issues, or safety concerns.
  • Support the implementation of improvements to boost productivity and reduce downtime or waste.
  • Assist in fulfilling customer orders accurately and on time.
  • Maintain a professional and responsive relationship with customers and drivers during pickups and deliveries.
  • Assist with basic cost tracking, supply usage, and waste reporting to support financial efficiency.
  • Gain exposure to plant budgeting and P&L management under the direction of the Plant Manager.
