About The Position

Gainey's, a leader in custom precast concrete solutions for over 45 years, is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager. This role is crucial for overseeing plant operations, supporting production goals, ensuring safety standards, and fostering inter-departmental collaboration. As the second-in-command to the Plant Manager, the Assistant Plant Manager will lead in production, post-production, and personnel development, contributing to the company's mission of providing innovative and resilient infrastructure solutions.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or construction
  • Experience in precast concrete or similar industrial manufacturing environments
  • Comfortable with digital systems, spreadsheets, and production software
  • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production operations and machinery.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Must be able to complete a 7-year background check.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug testing.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and coordinate daily precast production schedules
  • Troubleshoot production issues and provide hands-on support to teams
  • Ensure product quality standards are consistently met
  • Enforce all safety policies and OSHA regulations across the plant
  • Ensures that employees comply with applicable safety regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe practices throughout the facility
  • Assist in managing raw material inventory and usage
  • Optimize material flow and staging areas to minimize delays
  • Supervise production leads and hourly workforce
  • Support training and development of new and existing employees
  • Maintain accountability, attendance, and performance standards
  • Notifies the maintenance department of equipment problems.
  • Support equipment maintenance and preventative programs
  • Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and QC teams to resolve issues
  • Assist the Plant Manager in data reporting, allocating personnel resources, and continuous improvement
  • Ensures paperwork is completed and signed correctly.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
