About The Position

Schumacher & Co. is seeking an Assistant Plant Controller/Senior Cost Accountant to support financial and operational reporting for its Paramount Prints division. This role involves close collaboration with the factory floor and corporate finance teams to ensure inventory accuracy, resolve Receipts Not Vouchered (RNV) discrepancies, and support capital projects. The position will work daily with the AR/AP associate and partner with the Director of Production Planning.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience in manufacturing or cost accounting.
• Exposure to inventory and RNV processes.
• Solid working knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and goods receipt reconciliation.
• Working proficiency in an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and ability to trace discrepancies within it.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Ability to clearly explain financial data to non-finance partners.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis on throughput, labor utilization, and efficiency KPIs in partnership with the Director of Production Planning and the production team.
• Manage the month-end close for the division, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Prepare variance analysis on standard costs and manufacturing efficiency.
• Support inventory integrity through cycle count reconciliations, raw material and finished goods valuation, and investigation/resolution of RNV issues.
• Develop processes and implement controls, such as running time studies and creating Bills of Materials (BOMs), to enhance management visibility into production efficiency.
• Assist the AR/AP associate with timely transactional processing and maintaining internal controls over cash and liabilities.
• Track capital projects for Paramount Prints, including budget monitoring, AFE tracking, asset capitalization, and post-completion reviews.
