About The Position

Under indirect supervision, provides professional medical physics services for Radiation Oncology. Evaluates and interprets medical radiation treatment prescriptions. Collaborates with medical providers in the design and modification of effective radiation treatments for patients; oversees and monitors treatment plans developed by dosimetrists, and participates in the development and execution of equipment monitoring, calibration, and safety surveys.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Diagnostic Imaging (Required)
  • 1 or more years in Diagnostic Imaging (Required)
  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (Required)

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate all the Photon and Electron Energies of Linear Accelerator.
  • Performs calibration checks and safety surveys of linear accelerators and other sources of radiation.
  • Develops, implements, oversees, and participates in integrated radiation therapy quality control programs.
  • Perform a quality assurance program for all the energies of Linear Accelerator.
  • Develops or assists with the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with those of the organization to ensure efficient and safe operation of the unit.

  • Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs.
  • For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills.
  • Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.
