About The Position

The Assistant Perkins Grant Coordinator helps ensure compliance of the Perkins V Career and Technical Education grant’s required program activities and services. This position is integral to ensuring BRCC’s consistent maintenance of the program and grant implementation process, with a clear focus on serving as the Work-Based Learning Coordinator and Employer Engagement Liaison. The position assists the Perkins Grant Coordinator and senior leadership to enforce federal and state regulations, the Code of Federal Regulations, the U.S. Department of Education’s General Administrative Regulations and the Perkins State Plan.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, Business, Public Administration, Workforce Development, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in education, grant administration, program coordination or career/technical education.
  • Associate's degree is acceptable with three years of federal grants management experience and two years of employer liaison experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Workforce Developer or related career/technical education credential.

  • Knowledge of federal grant compliance requirements, including Perkins V, WIOA, or similar federal education or workforce programs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage a structured Work-Based Learning program that includes internships, externships, job shadowing, mentoring, industry tours, and employer-sponsored projects. Help match CTE students with WBL opportunities aligned to their program of study and career goals.
  • Identify, recruit, and cultivate relationships with regional employers across BRCC’s four CTE career clusters: Construction, Health Science, Information Technology, and Advanced Manufacturing.
  • Assist the Perkins Grant Coordinator with program coordination, budget review, data management, and requisite tasks regarding inventory and equipment management.
  • Collaborate with the Perkins Grant Coordinator, secondary CTE coordinators, and post-secondary CTE faculty/staff to connect high school students in Early College Academy programs with employer engagement and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Support career exploration activities at secondary partner schools and BRCC, including Career Waves 2 usage, employer panels, industry tours, and job shadowing for students, including Mobile CTE Unit coordination and logistics.
