About The Position

The City of Reno's Parks and Recreation Department is seeking energetic, reliable, and community-focused individuals to support local parks and recreation efforts. As an Assistant Park Ranger, you will patrol City parks and recreation areas, educate the public on park rules, promote compliance with City ordinances, and respond to incidents with professionalism and sound judgment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in security, event management, or park operations who enjoy working outdoors and serving their community. This is a part-time seasonal opportunity.

Requirements

• Age: 18
• High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by specialized training in the protection of parks or public recreation areas
• Two years of experience in security, event management, or protection of a park or public recreation area
• Valid driver’s license required

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual abilities (Spanish or other languages)
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification within six months of hire

Responsibilities

• Patrolling parks and recreation areas to enforce rules and maintain public safety.
• Enforcing compliance with ordinances through public contact, education, and citations when needed.
• Preparing reports and maintaining incident, activity, and evidence records.
